Vikram was an honest traveler who journeyed to new cities on foot. One day, he found a heavy bag on the road. Upon opening it, he discovered it was filled with gold coins.
Vikram was tempted, but he knew the money must belong to someone. He visited nearby villages, inquiring about the lost bag. Finally, he met a distressed farmer who had lost the bag while returning from the market.
The farmer was overjoyed to get his bag back. He insisted on rewarding Vikram, but Vikram refused, saying, “Honesty is the greatest reward.”
That night, Vikram slept with a peaceful mind, happy he chose honesty. The next day, he continued his journey with joy.
Moral of the story: Honesty is the best virtue. Being honest brings peace to the mind.
